The Blue Guitar Project

The Blue Guitar Project (BGP) is a charity that works to help underprivileged teens realize their musical dreams. Founded in 2014 by photographer Roxy Lee, BGP brings creative educational programs to high schools to inspire underprivileged kids. BGP programs are providing collaborative musical experiences in line with its core principles–what they call their four chords: Unity, Equality, Freedom, and Justice.

To bring awareness to this important work, musicians are participating in the “Blue Guitar Pass.” By sharing messages of inspiration and hope while passing the guitar to another musician, the message of the Blue Guitar will travel hand to hand, and be played on stages around the world.

I was fortunate enough to participate in the collaboration between the BGP and the Kansai Music Conference, and it was a wonderful project–you can check out the video here. Supporting this project will help bring music to underprivileged kids around the world. Click here for more information, or to make a donation to the BGP.
